   While cruising through the internet, I saw Professor Wilson’s video on How to Speak. Since I have struggled with being a bit overweight for a lifetime it was cool to see someone like me. Most academics are skinny and I couldn’t stop wishing I had their meager appetites. I watched it twice and really appreciated the part about having a vision and what have you done to achieve it. They were important questions that so many qualified people can’t answer well because they simply didn’t look at a job search in that way. But when I watched the video for a second time I paused it at the spot that showed the faces of the students and saw how happy this man made them feel. He showed a singular kind of innocence and concern that was natural to him. He was despite being a man of the mind, seemed to be especially a man of the heart. Then at 76 as I am, I could hear his heavy breathing and realized when he passes how he’ll be missed and his colleagues, students and friends will be so deeply saddened. I wept too, realizing that the earth has one less great man.
